Biography

Neil Evans trained at the Warwick Mathematics Institute, obtaining a PhD in nonlinear control of infinite dimensional systems in 1999. He was appointed to the academic staff in the School of Engineering in 2003 as a Reader. His teaching responsibilities include Biomechanics and Biomedical Systems Modelling, where he serves as a module leader for both subjects. Neil is a member of the Biomedical Biological Engineering and Systems Modelling Control research groups, contributing significant expertise in systems modeling and control of pharmacological, biomedical, and biomechanical processes. His research emphasis is on model selection and validation, particularly structural identifiability analysis, which addresses the critical issue of determining parameters in mathematical models based on unique data availability. He also applies mathematical modeling to assist in the research and development of pharmaceuticals, optimal dosing, and modeling cancer dynamics, among other applications in biomechanics.
