Dr. Neil Gregor

Biography

Neil Gregor is a Professor of Modern European History at the University of Southampton. His research interests cover a wide range of topics related to 20th century German history, including business history, social history, cultural history, literary studies, and historiography. He has been involved in significant publications and research projects, focusing on themes such as the intersection of art and music in 20th century Germany, the dynamics of memory cultures in post-war Germany, and the complexities of German corporate involvement during the Reich. His notable works include 'Daimler-Benz and the Reich', which examines the corporative adaptation to the Nazi regime, and 'Haunted City: Nuremberg and the Nazi Past', both of which have received considerable academic recognition. Gregor is also active in various external roles, serving as a reviewer for Oxford University Press and as chair at the German Historical Institute in London.
