Dr. Neil Herring

Biography

Neil Herring is a Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine and a British Heart Foundation Senior Fellow at the University of Oxford. He completed his DPhil at the University of Oxford, where he also underwent medical training. Herring became a Consultant Cardiologist in 2013 and was made Associate Professor in 2015. His research focuses on the autonomic nervous system's influence on cardiac function and arrhythmias, as well as cardiac pacing and rhythm management devices. He is actively involved in medical education as a Tutorial Fellow in Medical Science at Exeter College, Oxford. Herring has co-authored the textbooks 'Basic Science Core Medical Training' and 'Levick's Introduction to Cardiovascular Physiology.' Additionally, he is a member of the editorial boards for several journals, including JACC: Clinical Electrophysiology, Frontiers in Physiology, and Autonomic Neuroscience. He participates in fundraising activities for the British Heart Foundation and has been featured in interviews discussing his research and community involvement.
