Dr. Neil Sobol

Biography

Neil L. Sobol is a Professor of Law and the Director of Legal Analysis, Research & Writing at Texas A&M University School of Law. He has a rich background in law, starting his education with a Juris Doctor degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude and was part of the Order of the Coif. His academic journey also includes a Master of Science in Statistics and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Stanford University. Sobol's professional experience spans various roles in legal education and private practice, where he has specialized in consumer protection and bankruptcy law. He has a passion for teaching and mentoring students, focusing on legal analysis and research writing. His commitment is evident in the positive feedback he receives from students who go on to excel in the legal field. Outside of academia, Sobol has served as a marathon coach for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, training over 1,000 athletes and raising significant funds for blood cancer research. His research interests include consumer law, bankruptcy, and the civil and criminal justice systems, emphasizing the importance of accurate analysis and effective communication in legal practice.
