Biography

Nell Norman-Nott is a Conjoint Associate Lecturer at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA). Specializing in the psychological aspects of chronic pain, Nell is a provisional psychologist and a member of NeuRA's Centre for Pain IMPACT. Her research explores the central psychological mechanisms underlying chronic pain, integrating insights into the brain's pathophysiological changes. She is focused on developing innovative eHealth solutions, particularly the Pain Emotion Therapy, an internet-delivered psychological treatment based on dialectical behavior therapy. Currently, she is leading a large-scale national randomized controlled trial to further develop and implement this therapy in clinical practice. Before entering academia, Nell spent 15 years in the corporate sector, working in strategic program development and implementation for global tech companies such as LinkedIn, Microsoft, and Yahoo. She combines her technology expertise with her passion for psychological research to create evidence-based interventions that enhance chronic pain treatment and improve patient outcomes.
