Dr. Nghia Truong Phuoc

Biography

Dr. Truong is a research fellow at Monash University. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees in Chemistry from Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City and completed his PhD in nanotechnology and gene delivery at the University of Queensland, Australia. In 2014, he took a postdoctoral position at Monash University where he applied his knowledge in polymer chemistry and nanotechnology to pharmaceutical sciences, successfully developing new synthesis techniques for targeted delivery platforms. In 2018, he received the prestigious DECRA Fellowship and became a group leader. His research spans multiple fields including polymer chemistry, nanotechnology, materials, biology, immunology, and medical imaging, focusing on solving complex challenges in synthesis for biomedical applications. Dr. Truong has published landmark papers in top scientific journals such as Nature Chemistry and Nature Nanotechnology, and has successfully attracted competitive funding as a chief investigator. His current work is centered on creating advanced polymers and nanomaterials for drug and vaccine delivery, targeting specific tissues and cells to address global health challenges such as pandemics and cancers.
