Biography

Ngozi N. Nwizu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Diagnostic and Biomedical Sciences at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Dentistry. Feagans Clinical Postgraduate Scholarship during her studies. She later earned her PhD in pathology with a focus on Cancer Epidemiology from the State University of New York at Buffalo, specifically at Roswell Park Cancer Institute Graduate Division. Her research primarily investigates the association between periodontal disease and cancer risks, with an emphasis on chronic inflammation as a potential mechanistic link. Her current interests include the oral microbiome's role in cancer risk and improving treatment modalities for head and neck cancers.
