Dr. Niamh Dunne

Biography

Niamh Dunne is a Professor of Law at the London School of Economics, teaching in the areas of competition and EU law. She joined LSE in September 2015, having previously held positions as a Lecturer at King's College London and as a Fellow in Law at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge. Her professional background includes roles in competition enforcement at the Competition Authority in Ireland, as well as consulting on competition policy, primarily with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Niamh holds law degrees from the University of Cambridge (BA, PhD), NYU School of Law (LLM), and King's College London (MA). She is a qualified solicitor in Ireland and England & Wales (both non-practising), and an attorney in New York State. Her research interests broadly encompass competition policy and market regulation, exploring the relationship between competition law and economic regulation, the public and private aspects of antitrust enforcement, and the implications of digital economy on competition policy. She has published numerous articles and co-authored significant texts in the field, including a comprehensive guide to EU competition law and works that address the dynamics of competition regulation in the digital age.
