Biography

Niccolò Ridi is a Senior Lecturer in Public International Law and Associate Director of the Centre for International Governance and Dispute Resolution (CIGAD) at the Dickson Poon School of Law, King's College London. He joined King's in 2021 after holding positions at the University of Liverpool, the University of Copenhagen, and the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies. Niccolò holds a PhD from King’s College London, an LLM from the University of Cambridge, and an LLB/MA from the University of Florence. His areas of interest encompass public and private international law, specifically focusing on international dispute resolution. His current research utilizes doctrinal and empirical methodologies, including large-scale data mining and social network analysis to explore questions related to the output and argumentative processes of international courts and tribunals. Niccolò is in the process of finalizing several books pertaining to international adjudication and the principle of comity in both private and public international law, collaborating with Thomas Schultz. As a member of various legal societies, Niccolò also serves as an Assistant Editor for the Journal of International Dispute Settlement.
