Nicholas Asselin is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Brown University and a Clinician Educator. He initiated his medical career as a Firefighter/EMT in a small town in Southeastern Massachusetts. He attended the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine for medical school and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Rhode Island Hospital/Alpert Medical School of Brown University, where he served as Chief Resident. He also earned a Master's Degree in Medical Education Leadership from the University of New England in 2017. Dr. Asselin became the Program Director of the Brown Emergency Medicine Fellowship in EMS in 2019 and coordinates residency EMS education at Brown. He is an active EMS Medical Director for several Rhode Island EMS Agencies and for Brown University EMS. He is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medical Services by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and is a Fellow of both the American College of Emergency Physicians and the Academy of Emergency Medical Services. Dr. Asselin currently holds the position of Vice Chair on the Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council Education Subcouncil.
