Biography

Nicholas de Monchaux is the Weber-Shaughness Professor and Department Head of Architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), as well as a Professor of Urban Studies and Planning. He co-founded the local Code Lab at MIT and has a partner architecture practice called modem. He previously held the Craigslist Distinguished Chair in Architecture and Urban Design at the University of California, Berkeley. De Monchaux has been recognized in 'Public Interest Design 100' by Good Magazine and his designs have been featured in various prestigious exhibitions including the Venice Architecture Biennale and the Lisbon Architecture Triennial.
