Dr. Nicholas Roberts

Biography

Nicholas Roberts is an Associate Professor of Pathology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His research focuses on deciphering the genetic and biological determinants of pancreatic cancer risk and translating developments in personalized screening and early detection methods into novel therapies for patients. He completed his Ph.D. in Human Genetics and Molecular Biology at Johns Hopkins University, where he conducted thesis research under the guidance of Drs. Bert Vogelstein and Kenneth Kinzler. After receiving his Ph.D., he underwent postdoctoral training at Johns Hopkins University, concentrating on identifying novel pancreatic cancer susceptibility genes and enhancing patient care through knowledge of inherited cancer risk. He has received the prestigious NIH K99-R00 Career Development Award and is a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, as well as the American Association for Cancer Research and the American Society of Human Genetics. His research utilizes next-generation genomic sequencing technologies to identify and characterize pancreatic cancer susceptibility genes and explore the biology of pancreatic cancers.
