Biography

Nick Linton is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Bioengineering at Imperial College London. He is a Consultant Cardiologist at Imperial NHS Trust, specializing in treating patients with heart rhythm disorders. Nick's research focuses on improving treatment strategies for these conditions. He holds a Master’s degree in Engineering, Economics, and Management from Oxford University and has developed new cardiac output monitoring technology. Nick studied medicine at King’s College, London, and completed a significant portion of his medical training in France under Professors Haïssaguerre and Jaïs Hocini, who lead a prominent electrophysiology unit in Bordeaux. He was awarded a PhD investigating the mapping and ablation of organized atrial arrhythmias and is a co-inventor of Ripple Mapping, a technique used to guide invasive ablation treatments for complex cardiac arrhythmias. Currently, Nick is actively developing new approaches for ablation and predicting the recurrence of arrhythmias after treatment.
