Dr. Nick Turnbull

Biography

Nick Turnbull is a Senior Lecturer in Politics at the University of Manchester. He completed his PhD in Social Science Policy at the University of New South Wales in 2005. His academic career began in 2006 at the University of Manchester after teaching positions at the University of Sydney and the University of Western Sydney. Turnbull teaches courses on public policy and governance, with a strong focus on political rhetoric. He serves as the Associate Editor for the International Review of Public Policy and is actively involved in the International Public Policy Association. He has a background in practical policy experience, having worked as a researcher in the Social Policy Research Centre and as a political advisor in the New South Wales Legislative Council. His research interests center on governance, public policy, political communication, and the philosophy of rhetoric in political studies, with a specific focus on topics like modern slavery and the rhetorical dimensions of policy-making inquiries.
