Biography

Nick Volet holds a PhD in Physics from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. He has worked in Santa Barbara, California, USA, and served as a postdoc in silicon photonics at UCSB, where he contributed to the establishment of a research and development center for a high-tech company. He currently heads the Integrated Photonics Group in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Aarhus University. Volet is a Board Member of the Danish Optical Society and an Associate Editor of the IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics. In 2020, he co-founded UV Medico, a company based in Aarhus that aims to combat the spread of infectious diseases using human-safe UV light. His expertise encompasses photonics, lasers, and entrepreneurship.
