Dr. Nicki Cohen

Biography

Nicki is the Dean of Medical Education at King's College London (KCL), focusing on the successful delivery of undergraduate medical education programmes. She collaborates with colleagues within the faculty, the broader King's College London community, and partner NHS Trusts. Nicki plays a key role in developing educational partnerships, notably with the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), where she previously served as the Interim Executive Dean. Since joining KCL in 2015, she has held various leadership roles including leading Assessment and Admissions Quality for the MBBS GKT programme and serving as Deputy Programme Director for the MB ChB at the University of Bristol. Her research interests include addressing inequalities in access to medical careers, particularly for individuals from working-class backgrounds. Recent studies indicate that children of professionals are significantly more likely to become doctors compared to their working-class peers. Nicki's initiatives at KCL aim to bridge these gaps and promote inclusivity in medical education.
