Biography

Dr. Nickolai Dulin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Chicago. His research focuses on the signaling mechanisms underlying TGF-beta-induced myofibroblast differentiation, a crucial aspect of pulmonary fibrosis pathology. Using cell culture and animal models, Dr. Dulin's work highlights the significance of serum response factor (SRF) in myofibroblast differentiation related to pulmonary fibrosis, as well as the role of RGS3, a member of the regulator of G protein signaling family, in mediating TGF-beta signaling pathways. He has collaborated with Dr. Anne Sperling to elucidate RGS3's influence on T cell migration in T cell-mediated inflammation. Currently, his laboratory investigates the functional implications of RGS3 in cancer cell growth and migration, particularly through epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT).
