Biography

Nico Dellaert is an Associate Professor and the Chair of Quantitative Analysis & Stochastic Models in the Department of Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His research focuses on quantitative modeling of business processes, emphasizing the development of appropriate models tailored to specific processes. His key research areas include the design of sewer systems, insurance claim behavior, container terminal planning, and production-inventory control, with particular attention to transportation planning for healthcare operations. Dellaert is currently concentrating on integrating capacity production decisions and city logistics with multimodal transportation and healthcare planning. He employs a wide array of mathematical modeling techniques and collaborates with various companies and hospitals on his research projects. In addition to his research, Dellaert teaches multiple courses related to inventory control, goods flow control, healthcare logistics, and system dynamics design for operations planning and control systems. If a suitable mathematical model does not exist for a problem, he is dedicated to developing new solutions.
