Nicolas Jacquelot is a cancer immunologist who completed his PhD in the laboratory of Professor Laurence Zitvogel at the Gustave Roussy Institute. His work has provided insights into new molecular and cellular pathways that critically influence patient prognosis and outcomes in immunotherapy. After pursuing postdoctoral training in Professor Gabrielle Belz’s group at the Walter Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research and in Professor Pamela Ohashi’s laboratory at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, he established his research laboratory at the University of Calgary in January 2023. His research focuses on the role and function of innate lymphoid cells in anti-tumor immunity and responses to immunotherapy. Through his studies, he aims to enhance the understanding of immune lymphocytes, particularly T cells, and innate lymphoid cells in cancer. His ongoing research includes investigating cellular and molecular pathways that influence innate lymphoid cell function in tumors, exploring intercellular signaling pathways within the tumor microenvironment, and determining the prognostic value and therapeutic potential of innate lymphoid cells in cancer treatment. The overarching goal of his research is to improve the prognosis of cancer patients through the development of innate lymphoid cell-based treatments.
