Nicolás Pereda is an Associate Professor in the Visual Arts program at Princeton University. He is a filmmaker whose work explores everyday fractured elliptical narratives utilizing tools of fiction and documentary. Pereda collaborates with the theater collective Lagartijas Tiradas al Sol, including actress Teresita Sánchez. His films have been featured in over 30 retrospectives at major international film festivals, including Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Locarno, New York, and Toronto, as well as in galleries and museums such as Reina Sofía in Madrid, National Museum of Modern Art in Paris, and the Guggenheim and MoMA in New York. Before joining Princeton, Pereda was a faculty member at the University of California, Berkeley, Rutgers University, and Simon Fraser University. He continues to contribute to the field of visual arts and filmmaking through both teaching and creative practice.
