Dr. Nicolas Vermeys

Biography

Nicolas Vermeys holds an LL.D. from the Université de Montréal and is a certified information systems security professional (CISSP). He is the Associate Director of the Cyberjustice Laboratory and a member of the Centre de recherche en droit public. His research focuses on legal issues related to artificial intelligence, information security, and the implications of technological innovations on the law. Vermeys regularly engages in speaking events addressing the legal implications of information technology and has authored several significant publications, including works on civil liability and information security law. His involvement extends to lecturing for judges and legal professionals in Canada and abroad, emphasizing the importance of access to justice and the role of technology in enhancing judicial processes. Furthermore, he has held visiting professor positions at institutions like William & Mary and the University of Fortaleza.
