Biography

Nicole Anderson is currently a Professor at Macquarie University in Sydney and an affiliate faculty member at Arizona State University. She has held various administrative roles, including Director of the Institute for Humanities Research at Arizona State University, Head of the Department of Media, Communications, Creative Arts, Language and Literature at Macquarie University, and Associate Dean of Learning and Teaching at Macquarie University. She was granted the title of Professor Honoris Causa by the International Institute of Hermeneutics at Warsaw University, Poland. Anderson has extensive research interests and publications in areas such as Animal Studies, Ethics, Cultural Studies, Biopolitics, Continental Philosophy, Poststructuralism, and Posthumanism. She draws on the scholarship of French philosopher Jacques Derrida, particularly in terms of Derridean deconstruction. She is the founding editor of the Derrida Journal and has organized numerous international conferences to discuss how Derrida's work applies to contemporary issues.
