Biography

Dr. Nicole Bobbette is an Assistant Professor in the School of Rehabilitation Therapy at Queen's University. Her research primarily focuses on supporting the health and well-being of adults, particularly older adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, along with their caregivers. She has specific interests in the organization and provision of health services for these populations, with a strong emphasis on interprofessional, team-based primary care. Dr. Bobbette is dedicated to supporting health provider education and practices related to working with adults with intellectual disabilities. Furthermore, she conducts inclusive research with co-researchers and caregivers to promote healthy aging, well-being, and participation in inclusive communities. Her current projects include a national capacity-building initiative aimed at enhancing brain health among aging adults with intellectual disabilities and associated family caregivers. Her work also involves identifying optimal primary care models for this demographic in Ontario, as well as examining effective community supports on a global scale.
