Biography

Nicole Cipriani is a Professor at the University of Chicago, specializing in surgical pathology with a clinical subspecialty focus on head and neck, thyroid, bone, and soft tissue pathology. Her research interests include neoplastic diseases of the thyroid gland, salivary glands, and the upper aerodigestive tract. Additionally, Dr. Cipriani is interested in Anatomic Pathologic Informatics, web design, digital imaging, and virtual slides. She serves as the Co-Director of Surgical Pathology and the Director of Anatomic Pathology Informatics at the University of Chicago. With a rich academic background, Dr. Cipriani earned her AB in Biological Sciences and Visual Arts from the University of Chicago in 2002, followed by an MS in Medical Illustration/Biomedical Visualization from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2004, and her MD from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in 2008. She completed her residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital in 2012 and a fellowship in Head and Neck Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology in 2013.
