Biography

Nicole Culos-Reed is a Professor in the Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary, where she also holds appointments in the Department of Oncology and the Department of Psychosocial Resources at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre. As the Director of the Health and Wellness Lab and the Thrive Centre, she focuses on exercise psychology with a particular emphasis on health behavior change. Culos-Reed's research aims to develop, implement, and evaluate sustainable community-based exercise oncology programs, with a goal of integrating exercise into standard cancer care. She is a member of the Arnie Charbonneau Cancer Institute and the Alberta Children's Hospital Research Institute. Her work involves studying physical activity among cancer survivors and utilizing a multidisciplinary approach to improve their quality of life. Upcoming projects include establishing physical activity programs tailored to cancer survivors and analyzing lifestyle interventions throughout different cancer continuum stages.
