Biography

Nicole Skidmore is an Assistant Professor at the University of Warwick, specializing in physics research related to the Standard Model, particularly focusing on beauty meson decays and the applications of computing in large-scale scientific endeavors. She completed her Masters degree at the University of Southampton and proceeded to obtain her PhD from the University of Bristol. Following her doctoral studies, she held a three-year post-doctoral position in Germany before returning to the UK to join the University of Manchester. Throughout her career, she has been a dedicated member of the LHCb collaboration, contributing significantly over the past 12 years, and currently leads the Data Processing Analysis (DPA) project within LHCb. Her research encompasses the processing and analysis of data from the online trigger system to support physics publications, with a strong emphasis on integrating quantum computing and promoting the preservation of analysis methods for open data. Her work also includes notable projects such as Pentaquark searches, measurements of CP-violation in beauty decays, and tests of lepton flavor universality.
