Dr. Nidhi Johri

Biography

Dr. Nidhi Johri spent her childhood experiencing diverse cultures and living styles due to her father's job postings across India. After passing the medical exam in India, she gained admission to the prestigious Lady Hardinge Medical College in New Delhi, one of the top-ranked medical colleges in India. During her medical school clinical rotations, Dr. Johri discovered her passion for helping patients manage chronic diseases, providing comprehensive adult care while forming long-term relationships. She participated in volunteer activities which enhanced her understanding of public health issues, particularly as she was responsible for health and social welfare in her family's slum settlement. After moving to the U.S., she pursued her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Southern California. Dr. Johri has worked as a researcher in the Stanford-Veteran Affairs Gastroenterology department and served as a primary care physician at Kaiser Permanente in Petaluma for five years, where she built strong relationships with patients. She has a special interest in obesity medicine and believes in nurturing a doctor-patient friendship. Outside of work, Dr. Johri enjoys spending time with her young son, writing fiction, cooking, traveling, and watching Bollywood movies.
