Dr. Niels Bindslev

Biography

Niels Bindslev is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen. He earned his MD from Copenhagen University in 1971 and has extensive experience in various roles including a research fellow at the Department of Physiology, UCLA, and assistant professor positions at Copenhagen University. His research primarily focuses on epithelial transport and receptor characterization related to human gut diseases, employing theoretical tools such as dose-response analysis and pharmacodynamics. Bindslev plays an active role in teaching, organizing courses in gastrointestinal physiology for medical students and Ph.D. candidates, where he emphasizes the significance of drug-receptor interactions. He has authored several peer-reviewed publications on topics including colonic secretion and receptor subtypes in duodenal physiology, making substantial contributions to the understanding of drug-acceptor interactions. His ongoing research is documented in his upcoming book on the analysis of dose-response relationships.
