Dr. Niels Buus

Biography

Niels Buus is a Professor at Aarhus University, affiliated with the Department of Public Health and the Department of Science in Nursing. His research primarily focuses on health services, public mental health, and the lived experiences of individuals undergoing depression treatment, with a particular interest in Open Dialogue approaches. He possesses expertise in qualitative research methods and methodologies and his work often intersects with the fields of health sciences, social sciences, and humanities. In addition to his role at Aarhus University, Buus serves as an adjunct professor at Monash University in Australia, where he teaches a Master's course in Nursing Education that emphasizes Advanced Practice Nursing and Nursing Science. He coordinates the course 'Nursing Society'. Throughout his academic career, Buus has contributed significantly to various research outputs and has been involved in multiple active projects, including a scoping review of Nurse-Led Models in Orthopaedic Surgery. His collaborative efforts within the past five years include research projects that highlight his commitment to advancing the nursing profession and mental health treatment methodologies.
