Biography

Niels Ringstad is a Professor in the Department of Cell Biology and the Department of Neuroscience at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. His research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms that govern the development and function of neuromodulatory systems in the brain. He employs C. elegans, a powerful model organism, to investigate the genetics and behaviors associated with neuromodulators such as serotonin, dopamine, and neuropeptides.
