Biography

Niema Pahlevan is an Associate Professor of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Southern California (USC). He joined USC in August 2017 as an Assistant Professor and has since contributed significantly to the fields of bioengineering and mechanical engineering. Pahlevan also holds the Gordon S. Marshall Early Career Chair in Engineering. His research focuses on biofluid dynamics, fluid-structure interaction, and cardiovascular applications, including MRI techniques and hemodynamic analysis. Prior to his appointment at USC, he was a postdoctoral scholar at the California Institute of Technology and a clinical research investigator at the Huntington Medical Research Institutes. His work has led to advancements in understanding fluid dynamics and its impact on various cardiovascular diseases.
