Biography

Nigel Hall is an Associate Professor in Paediatric Surgery at the University of Southampton and serves as a Consultant Paediatric and Neonatal Surgeon at Southampton Children’s Hospital. He graduated from the University of Cambridge in 1997 and trained in General Specialist Paediatric Surgery at Southampton Children’s Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, and Hospital Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. Hall completed a PhD at the University of London and has led numerous national and international randomized controlled trials to improve outcomes for children undergoing surgery. His research focuses on necrotising enterocolitis and congenital gastrointestinal anomalies, aiming to enhance understanding of pathophysiology and develop novel therapies. He is actively involved in multiple research initiatives and collaborations, including sitting on the research committee of the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons. Hall is also involved in the academic training of future surgeons, supervising PhD students and leading research modules for medical students.
