Dr. Nigel Spivey

Biography

Nigel Spivey is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Classics at the University of Cambridge, specializing in Classical Art and Archaeology. His research primarily focuses on Etruscan art and archaeology, Greco-Roman art, and the anthropology of art. Spivey has published several key works on Greek sculpture and Etruscan art, including 'Understanding Greek Sculpture' (1996), 'Etruscan Art' (1997), and 'Ancient Olympics' (2nd ed. 2012). He has supervised research topics such as Etruscan iconography and the polychromy of Greek sculpture, demonstrating a commitment to advancing the understanding of these subjects within the field.
