Dr. Nikhil Sapre

Biography

Nikhil Sapre is a Lecturer in Finance at the University of Bristol Business School and Programme Director for the MSc Financial Technology program. He has previously worked at Coventry University for four years, where he contributed to curriculum development and academic management. Nikhil has over six years of industry experience in financial markets research and commercial banking, having worked with HSBC and ING. He holds a PhD in Finance, a Postgraduate Diploma in Research Methods, and an MSc in Finance and Accounting from the University of Bradford, as well as a BA in Business Management from the University of Sunderland. Nikhil is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) in the UK and has earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice in Higher Education. His research primarily focuses on the obstacles and consequences of financial development, with an empirical and policy-relevant approach that emphasizes banking, social finance, and financial inclusion. He is involved in projects such as the Collaborative Sustainability Integration Project, which aims to develop a toolkit for integrating sustainability into the curriculum through collaborative online learning.
