Dr. Niklas Åkerman

Biography

Niklas Åkerman is an Assistant Professor of Business Administration at the University of Gothenburg. He holds a PhD in Business Administration from Linnaeus University, where he defended his doctoral thesis on 'Learning strategies in international growth – knowledge acquisition and opportunity realization' in 2016. His research interests mainly focus on the internationalization processes within firms, paying particular attention to the learning and knowledge aspects that facilitate their entry into distant markets. His work also intersects with international entrepreneurship research, reflecting his commitment to understanding the multifaceted dynamics of global business operations. He has published in journals such as the Journal of International Entrepreneurship and the European Management Journal, contributing to the advancement of theories and practices in the field. Åkerman is also involved in teaching areas including International Business, International Entrepreneurship, Strategy, and Quantitative Research Methods, equipping students with the necessary skills to navigate the complexities of global markets.
