Biography

Niklas Wahlström is an Associate Professor in the Division of Systems Control, Department of Information Technology at Uppsala University. His research interests lie in the fields of machine learning, sensor fusion, and statistical signal processing, with a particular focus on physics-informed machine learning applications. He has developed courses in machine learning at both the Master’s and PhD levels. Niklas received his MSc degree in 2010 and his PhD in automatic control in 2015 from Linköping University, Sweden, with part of his studies conducted at ETH Zürich in Switzerland and Imperial College in the United Kingdom. He became affiliated with Uppsala University as a Postdoctoral researcher in 2016, and in 2019 he took on the role of Assistant Professor, where he continues to engage in teaching and research.
