Biography

Nikolai Matni is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Systems Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania. Nikolai completed his Ph.D. in Control and Dynamical Systems at Caltech in June 2016. Prior to joining Penn, he worked as a postdoctoral scholar at UC Berkeley's Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences department and held a position as a postdoctoral scholar in Computing and Mathematical Sciences at Caltech. His research interests include Autonomous Systems, Machine Learning, and various control system methodologies. He has received several accolades, including the NSF CAREER Award and IEEE Control Systems Society Paper Awards.
