Dr. Nikolaos Karadimitriou

Biography

Nikolaos Karadimitriou is a spatial planner and regional development professional with extensive training and experience in territorial development and urban-regional planning. His career began in 1998 as a planning practitioner, where he worked on significant projects such as the formulation of quality of life indicators for the Urban Audit Pilot Project under DG Regio and the organisation of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games. He transitioned to academia in 2003 at the University of Reading and joined University College London (UCL) in 2006. Throughout his career, he has acted as an expert advisor to a variety of public and private sector entities, including international organisations, national, regional, and local government bodies, investment funds, and NGOs. His advisory roles have included agencies such as UN Habitat and the European Commission, as well as the Greek government. He has also provided expert advice to the European Investment Bank and led a scoping study for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
