Biography

Nikolaos Pappas is an Associate Professor at Linköping University, specializing in semantic wireless communications, age information, stochastic modeling, and performance analysis of communication networks. He has earned his B.Sc. in Computer Science and Mathematics, an M.Sc. in Computer Science, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Crete, Greece. He worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Telecommunications Networks Laboratory and served as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Maryland at College Park. Subsequently, he held a postdoctoral researcher position at Supélec, France. Since 2014, he has been a Marie Curie Fellow at Linköping University, where he is currently leading the Communications Networked Intelligent Systems Group. His research interests include cooperative wireless networks, wireless energy harvesting, queueing theory, and the tactile internet. He is an active contributor to IEEE journals, serving in various editorial roles and as a voting member of the IEEE Working Group P1918.1. Pappas has authored several significant projects, including those focusing on low-latency communications and robust security services for 6G networks.
