Biography

Nikolas Kirby is a Reader in Politics and International Relations, specializing in political philosophy. He is a fellow at the Centre for Public Policy at the University of Glasgow and serves as a trustee of Aurora UK, where he is also a co-founder and chair of the Equality initiative. Prior to his current role, Dr. Kirby was a Democracy Visiting Fellow at the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation at Harvard Kennedy School, and he held a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship at the Philosophy and Public Policy program, where he directed the Building Integrity Programme at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford. Dr. Kirby has obtained degrees in philosophy, politics, and law from the University of Sydney (BA (Hons), LLB (Hons)) and the University of Oxford (BPhil, DPhil) as a Rhodes Scholar. His scholarly work has been published in leading journals such as Philosophical Public Affairs, the Journal of Politics, the British Journal of Political Science, and Ethics. He co-edited the book 'Equals?' published by Oxford University Press, and is the editor of 'Good Government?', also by Oxford University Press. In addition to his academic contributions, he has authored a significant review addressing the integrity regime within the Australian Public Service.
