Dr. Nikolay Gromov

Biography

Nikolay Gromov graduated from Saint-Petersburg State University in January 2005 and obtained his PhD from École normale supérieure and Saint-Petersburg Nuclear Physics Institute in November 2007. He held postdoctoral positions from 2007 to 2008 at CEA Saclay in France and from 2008 to 2010 at DESY, Hamburg University in Germany. In April 2010, he joined King’s College London as a lecturer in Theoretical Physics, was promoted to Reader in September 2014, and became a Professor in 2018. Professor Gromov's research focuses on non-perturbative Yang-Mills theory, and he studies phase transitions and classical configurations that generalize instantons. His work also encompasses remarkable duality within the context of N = 4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory and 10-dimensional string theory in an AdS5 x S5 background, emphasizing integrability which facilitates the representation of equations and simplifies various perturbation calculations.
