Dr. Nikolay Koposov

Biography

Nikolay Koposov is a Distinguished Professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology, affiliated with the School of History and Sociology and the School of Literature, Media, Communication. He has previously held positions at Emory University, Johns Hopkins University, Helsinki University, and served as the Founding Dean of Smolny College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, a joint venture between Saint-Petersburg State University and Bard College. His research focuses on modern European intellectual history, with particular emphasis on modern France, post-Soviet Russia, historiography, historical memory, and comparative politics. Koposov has authored six books including 'Memory Laws, Memory Wars: Politics of the Past in Europe and Russia' and has lectured at prestigious institutions such as the Woodrow Wilson Center and Harvard University. He has participated in various expert groups related to historical memory and human rights.
