Biography

Nikolina Šoštarić obtained a BSc and MS in Chemistry with a specialization in Physical Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of Zagreb. She earned her PhD in Bioscience Engineering at KU Leuven, supported by a personal FWO fellowship. Her research focuses on the effects of post-translational modifications on protein interactions and metabolic rewiring in ethanol-tolerant yeast. After completing her PhD, Nikolina worked on post-transcriptional regulation in T lymphocytes at the Sanquin Institute in Amsterdam. In August 2023, she moved to a position at TU Delft with an emphasis on education. Nikolina is passionate about science popularization and has led multiple initiatives aimed at inspiring students to study STEM fields.
