Biography

Nilanjan Das holds a BA in Philosophy with minors in Sanskrit and Mathematics from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, an MA in Philosophy with a specialization in Mathematical Logic from Jadavpur University, and a PhD in Philosophy with a minor in Linguistics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His research focuses on epistemology and Sanskrit philosophy, exploring the connections between self-knowledge and rationality. He engages with debates between Buddhist and Brahminical thinkers regarding the nature of self and knowledge. Currently, he is in the process of writing a book about the 12th-century Indian philosopher and poet, Śrīharṣa. Additionally, Dr. Das is an organizer of the London Group Formal Philosophy and serves as an associate editor for the journal MIND.
