Dr. Nilesh Saraf

Biography

Professor Saraf focuses on the diffusion of enterprise information technology and its role in creating business value. His research encompasses open source software development, strategic behavior, and product service vendors' emergence, as well as technology standards. His work has been published in top journals such as MIS Quarterly and Information Systems Research. Over the years, he has received several competitive awards, including the Emerald Management Reviews Citations Excellence Awards in 2011 and 2014, and was the runner-up in the Doctoral Dissertation competition by ACM-SIGMIS in 2004. He has also won competitive external grants from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and has served in editorial roles for journals including MIS Quarterly and Information Systems Research. Currently, he serves as the Academic Director of the Management Technology MBA program at Beedie School of Business, Simon Fraser University. Professor Saraf completed his Ph.D. in Business Administration at the Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, and holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, India. He completed his undergraduate degree in Electronics Engineering at Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda, India. He is married and has children.
