Nilgün Önder received her BSc degree with the highest distinction in Political Science and Public Administration from Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey. She completed her MA at Wilfrid Laurier University and earned her PhD in Political Science from York University, Toronto. Dr. Önder joined the University of Regina in 2003, where she is currently the Associate Vice President (Academic), a position she started on July 1, 2018. Dr. Önder's research interests encompass power and global governance, global finance and international financial institutions, as well as Foreign Policy Theory and Turkish foreign policy. She teaches courses in Political Science and International Studies within the Department of Politics and International Studies and has published articles in international journals and presented papers at numerous international academic conferences. She is also the author of 'Economic Transformation in Turkey: Neoliberalism and State Intervention,' published by I.B. Tauris in 2016.
