Before coming to Uppsala, I was a Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Hamburg, a postdoctoral researcher in aesthetics at Auburn University, and a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellow at the University of Southampton where I led the research project Art & Ethics. I completed my PhD in philosophy at the University of Michigan in 2016 and obtained an MA from the University of Sheffield in 2009. My research mainly focuses on aesthetics and ethics, specifically tackling questions about the values philosophers refer to as 'normativity' in art and aesthetic appreciation. My work increasingly engages with oppressive social relations and their impact on aesthetic activities. Currently, I am working on a book that explores the ethical properties affecting the aesthetic value of artworks.
