Biography

Nima Ghalichechian is an Associate Professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology and Director of the mmWave Antennas Arrays Laboratory. His research concentrates on mmWave phased arrays, reconfigurable antennas, reflect-arrays, transmit-arrays, on-chip antennas, phase-change materials, non-reciprocal microwave devices, high-power arrays, and mmWave measurement techniques. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic) in Iran in 2001, followed by an M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland-College Park in 2005 and 2007, respectively. Before joining Georgia Tech in August 2021, he served as a Senior Principal Engineer in the Research Department of Formfactor, Inc. and held a Research Scientist role at The Ohio State University, transitioning through several academic appointments, including Assistant Professor and Research Assistant Professor. He has been recognized with various awards, including the Roger Webb Outstanding Junior Faculty Award in 2024 and the NSF CAREER Award in 2019.
