Biography

Nimmi Weeraddana is an Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary, specializing in Computer Science. She completed her Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Waterloo in 2025. Her Master’s degree is also in Computer Science, obtained from the University of Victoria in 2022, and she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, obtained in 2018. Dr. Weeraddana's research interests focus on developing and evaluating tools to facilitate video game development. She is actively looking for research assistants for a fully funded PhD position in her lab, starting in Fall 2026. Additionally, her research group is engaging undergraduate students for 4-month internships through NSERC URSA PURE programs in Spring 2026. Nimmi is dedicated to both her teaching responsibilities and research initiatives, working on projects related to software releases and mining software repositories.
