Biography

Nina Obermeier joined the Department of Political Economy at King’s College London as a lecturer in politics in 2023. She received her PhD in government from Cornell University. Her research interests lie at the intersection of comparative politics and international relations, focusing on how attitudes towards international affairs shape political contestation and identity formation at the domestic level. Her work has been published in the Journal of Politics and the Journal of Elections, Public Opinion, and Parties. She has received several awards for her research and teaching, including the Wade Jacoby Prize for her dissertation in EU Studies and the David Lake Award for a paper presented at the International Political Economy Society (IPES), as well as Cornell University’s Dean’s Prize for Distinguished Teaching.
